HP Laser Jet 3380 MFP Maintenance
Instructions
The following Parts are included in this Kit:
1 Fusing Assembly – RM1- 2075, 1 Transfer Roller – RM1-0550,
1 Separation Pad – RF0-1014, 1 Pickup Roller – RL1-0303
CAUTION:
Fuser may be hot. Turn off printer, unplug it and allow it to sit for 20 to 30
minutes before performing these maintenance procedures.
Fusing Assembly Removal and Replacement
1. Remove right cover
a.) Open cartridge door
b.) Open rear output door
c.) Remove one screw (callout 1)
to remove right cover

d.) Lift the right side of printer and release the tab (callout
2)
on the bottom of the cover
e.) Grasp the back of the cover, pulling the cover backwards,
guide the cover away from the front tabs

2. Scanner side covers

a.) Remove two screws holding the right scanner side cover in
place (callout 3)
b.) Slide cover back and away from printer body
c.) Open print cartridge door and the left side door to access
the screws holding the left side scanner cover
d.) Repeat step (a) (callout 3) to remove left side scanner
cover

3. Separating the scanner from the printer
a.) Disconnect two ribbon cable form the scanner formatter PCA,
thread ribbon cable through the slot and away from the slot (callout 4)

b.) Remove two front screws from each side of the printer; the
screw on the left side (callout 5)
is directly opposite the screw on the right side of the printer

c.) Remove two screws from the back of printer (callout
6)

d.) Slide the scanner back and lift it upward to separate it
from the printer body
4. Remove fuser assembly
a.) Remove two screws (callout 7)
from the right fuser support plate
b.) Remove a third screw (callout 8)from
behind the large gear (access the screw through the holes in the 69T gear) on
the right fuser plate and remove it
c.) Release the tab (callout 9)
and remove the pressure roller gear

d.) Remove three screws (callout 10)
from left fuser plate and remove it

e.) Remove two screws (callout 11)
there is one on the left side and the right side of the printer

f.) Remove fuser cable (callout 12)
by pressing and releasing the tab on the connector
g.) Remove five smaller cables (callout
13)
from the ECU and untwist cables from fusing assembly
h.) Remove one spade connector (callout
14)
i.) Remove one screw (callout 15)
from paper delivery sensor and lift out paper delivery sensor

j.) GENTLY remove fuser assembly
5.To Reinstall
a.) Remove large gear from fusing assembly
b.) Install new fuser and reinstall large 69T gear to new fusing
assembly
c.) Reverse fuser removal instructions
Transfer Roller Removal and Replacement
1. Open toner access lid
2. Remove toner cartridge
3. Locate the bushing on right side next to the drive gear
4. Squeeze the tabs on the bushing and lift up, slide to the
right and remove Tray 1 Pickup Roller and Separation Pad Removal and Replacement
1. Open toner access cover
a.) Remove toner cartridge
b.) Spread the pick up roller locks on each side of roller to
release roller
c.) With a small flat blade screwdriver, pry blue pad out and
away from black holder
d.) Align new pad on holder and press firmly to lock into place
e.) Reinstall roller
