5. Reassemble in reverse order
This completes the removal and
replacement of the maintenance kit components. Reassemble printer in reverse
order of disassembly and test for proper installation
NOTE: There are two reassembly
points that may cause problems:
1. When reinstalling the paper pick
up drive gear on the shaft it is possible to put it 180 degrees out. This will
result in the kick plate being forward in the home position rather than back.
The kick plate being in the back position when the catch on the gear is engaged
with the solenoid arm will indicate proper installation.
2. When reconnecting the wires that
were removed during paper feed frame disassembly it is possible for two wire
connectors to be installed in the wrong jacks. The wire connector from the
sensor assembly must be installed on the engine board and the wire connector
from the control panel must be installed on the formatter board. They are both
light blue wires and can be seated in the wrong jacks.
