Maintenance Kit Instructions
The following parts
are included in this maintenance kit:
1 Fusing Assembly
RG5-5750
1 Transfer Roller
Assembly RF5-3319
2 Paper Pickup
Rollers RF5-3340
7 Feed/Separation
Rollers RF5-3338
CAUTION: The fuser
may be very hot. Turn off the printer and unplug the main
power cord. Allow
the printer to sit for 20 to 30 minutes before performing these
maintenance
procedures.
Transfer Roller
Removal and Replacement:
1. Open the front
door of the printer and rotate large green lever downward
2. Pinch blue tab
and pull transfer assembly out
3. Insert new
transfer roller assembly into printer and slide in until it locks into place
4. Press the white
button and rotate green lever back up until it locks
5. Close front cover
NOTE: Do not touch
the surface of the new transfer roller with bare hands. Skin oils on the roller
can cause print
defects.
Tray 2 and Tray 3
Pickup/Feed/Separation Roller Removal and Replacement
1. Open tray 2 until
it stops. Lift up on outer end and pull tray free
2. Repeat step 1 for
tray 3 removal
3. Reaching in
through the empty tray slots, pinch tabs on rollers and remove
4. Slide the new
rollers onto the shafts until the tabs lock
5. Reinstall paper
trays
Optional Tray 4
Roller Removal and Replacement
1. Open the tray 4
and remove all paper
2. Locate blue
release buttons on both sides of the tray
3. Slide buttons
toward front of tray and pull tray out
4. Slide blue roller
shield towards the back of Tray 4
5. Pinch tabs on the
rollers and remove from shaft
6. Slide new roller
on until tabs lock into place. NOTE: You do not need to slide the
blue shield back
over the roller
7. Replace the paper
tray
Fusing Assembly
Removal and Replacement
1. Open left side
access door
2. Remove duplexer
if installed
3. Locate blue
levers on each side of fuser and rotate them towards the middle
4. Lift up on handle
and slide fuser out of printer
5. Align new fuser
and slide firmly into printer until seated
6. Lock the blue
tabs into position. NOTE: Do not force the levers. If they will not lock
reseat the fuser and
try again.
7. Reinstall
duplexer if needed and close door
Resetting
Maintenance Count
1. Hold down the
CHECK button while powering on the printer
2. Keep button
depressed until all 3 lights are on
3. Use UP arrow or
Down arrow key to scroll to “NEW MAINTENANCE KIT”
4. Press the CHECK
button to select
5. Perform steps
necessary to return printer to operation
