Please Note: Turn the printer off, unplug it, and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before performing these maintenance

procedures.

Cover Removal HP II/IID:

1. Open the hinged top cover assembly.

2. Remove the eight screws securing the main body cover assembly. They are located as follows:

Outside of printer: 1 on each side in the front

1 on the rear

1 on upper right side

Inside of printer: 2 on upper front side

2 on lower left side

3. Remove the cover by lifting the entire cover assembly up slightly then rotating the rear of the

cover up.

4. Before entirely removing the cover disconnect the front panel cable.

5. Disconnect this cable by pushing the plastic latches outward then unseating the connector.

6. Remove the cover.

Cover Removal HP III/IIID:

The cover removal for the series III/IIID printer is a little different from the series II/IID. The main body cover comes apart into four pieces

and each one must be removed separately.

1. Open the hinged top cover assembly.

2. Remove the three screws securing the upper portion of the main body cover. Then squeeze the rear right side cover together while

gently lifting up on the rear part of the top panel. This is a little tricky so be patient. The top panel will pop up, then rotate the rear of

the top panel up to the vertical position and lift it off.

3. Remove the right side panel by removing the two screws, one at the rear by power switch and one at the front of the panel. Lift the

panel up to remove.

4. Remove the three screws securing the left side panel and lift the panel up to remove.

5. The front cover panel has no screws securing it so it will just come right off. Make sure to disconnect.

Fusing Assembly:

1. Remove the four screws securing the fusing assembly to the printer (one at each corner).

2. Grasp each side of the fuser and carefully lift the fuser up and out of the printer.

3. Installation is the reverse of removal.
